International Trucks - Bringing it All Together

The Challenge

To launch International Truck’s all-new HX Series, Navistar set out to tell a story that would capture the raw power and innovation behind the S13 Integrated Powertrain. The concept demanded more than a standard product reveal — it needed a cinematic journey that could merge engineering precision, environmental consciousness, and American industrial grit into one cohesive narrative.

The campaign required storyboards that could bridge worlds: translating complex technical ideas into emotionally resonant visuals, guiding both CGI production and live-action cinematography across quarry, overpass, and solar farm environments. From concept to execution, every frame had to feel authentic, powerful, and unmistakably International.

The Approach

Working closely with Navistar’s creative and engineering teams, we developed a sequence of detailed storyboards and shot breakdowns that mapped the journey from raw elements to refined power. Every scene was designed to evolve — from dust and steel to precision and purpose — mirroring how the S13 powertrain comes together piece by piece.

  • Each shot was meticulously previsualized to blend CGI engine assembly with live-action environments — shifting seamlessly between the quarry, solar farm, and highway overpass.

  • The engine build sequence became the narrative core, with components colliding, locking, and tightening into place in rhythm with sound design and score.

  • A series of “hero transitions” linked shots across locations, using dust, light, and movement as bridges to unify tone and pacing.

  • Multiple versions (V1–V3) were produced and refined in collaboration with Navistar’s marketing and PR teams to ensure technical accuracy while maintaining cinematic flow.

The result was a production pipeline where storyboard precision guided on-set execution, allowing complex CGI integration to align perfectly with live-action photography.

The Outcome

The final film, “Bringing It All Together,” became the visual centerpiece of Navistar’s HX Series launch campaign — a seamless blend of storytelling, design, and technical craft that positioned the S13 Integrated Powertrain as both innovative and unstoppable.

Each sequence — from the engine’s self-assembly to the HX truck powering through quarry dust — reinforced the campaign’s message:

“Less weight. Less fuel. More power.”

The film bridged concept and reality, showing how cinematic production and industrial authenticity could coexist on the same screen. Distributed across broadcast, web, and social platforms, the spot became a flagship piece for International Truck, representing a new creative benchmark for the brand.

The result was more than a launch video — it was a moving statement of purpose, bringing engineering excellence and cinematic vision together, frame by frame.
